Tattooing has been practiced for centuries in Mexico. From our ancestor to nowadays. our ancestors were Mayas and Aztecas. Their tattoos were very simple designs of Mexicans death, animals or important symbols that we are proud to show to other cultures even the kids had tattoos in maya and aztec cultures.
Some old tattoos are ztecs warrior tattoos that represent Tezcatlipoca who was the god of warrior. The Eagle tattoos means the resistance that the warriors had to fight.
But nowadays it's different. It's not easy to have a tattoo. Because nowadays in Mexico the people who have tattoos are usually gangsters as the next video shows, they are a "Cartel" which means gangsters. They usually have their body tattooed :
Each tattoo means something in the streets. For example a Serpent threaded in a fist means that he killed a policeman and if it has a red heart it means that he was a federal police. A spider in his web means that he is extremely aggressive. Gnomes or goblins means: those are usually smoking weed or sitting in a mushroom it's a characteristics of the people who use drugs. For all this reasons nowadays it's not good to have tattoos in mexico because sometimes it's difficult to get a job or even the people can confuse you with gangsters and you could have a very difficult time.
