Elaine-11-veiled women

Allowance veil in Court

There is a case in the Supreme Court of Canada about a muslin woman who wants to wear her religious veil while testifying in court. The court says that they don't consider the extreme resolutions - must always show the face or be able to wear it anytime -  they try to find a reasonable path between the extremes.

In my opinion, the Court is being very reasonable in the way they are treating the case. In the report I watched, they are trying to weigh all the factors and see whether or not the veil will interfere in the judgment. And it is also important to mention that the Court is making sure not to discourage veiled women to report offenses. So, I think the Court is taking a good position and they will find a balanced resolution.
