The Kite Runner

The Kite Runner is the first romance writing by Khaled Hosseini, who was born in Afghanistan, but has his residence in California. The book was published in 2003 by Riverhead Books and, also, a movie with the same name was made in 2007.

This novel is about the history of a friendship between two boys Amir and Hassan.They have different social class and personalities. Amir is a rich and not a very brave boy. He is always trying to impress his father. Hassan is the son of servant of Amir's father. He is a brave and kind-hearted boy, who does not know how to write and read. They both love old history of great warriors, cowboy movies and kites. 

                                     

Hassan is so kind, he could give his life for Amir, but Amir is not too brave to do the same thing. One of the saddest moment of the history was in a kite competition, when Hassan proved his friendship for Amir. Trying to recover Amir's kite, Hassan had a physic and sexual aggression by some boys, who wanted take the kite from him. Amir knew everything that had happened, and he knew that all this was because Hassan wanted to bring Amir's kite safely. Because Amir was feeling guilty he could not look anymore at Hassan, so he forged a stole and he made Hassan be guilty for it. Because of the Soviet invasion in Afghanistan, Amir went to the United States without solve the mistakes that he made to Hassan. After years he come back to try to fix all the mistakes that he made in the past. 

                                           

This is my favourite book, because it shows the common mistakes that we make in life. Also, it shows how all these mistakes do not have any importance in a friendship when there is LOVE and HONOR. And how the GUILT and FEAR make us hurt the people who we love. The important thing was that there is always redemption.
