Giving Away What You Have
It has become popular lately that famous and well recognized people in the world, to give away big amounts of money for making a better world. It is such a generous move that not everyone would tend to volunteer for.
We have a saying in Turkish which can be translated as : 'The shroud has no pocket'. If one is aware of this fact, there would not be any conflict about money so people would make money only for their daily expenses and not worry about the future, knowing that money remains here and cannot be taken away with them after death.
In my opinion, it is very hard making the decision of giving away all the money that belongs to us. Because, selfishly, that is the money we earned at the end of our efforts. These people who have decided to give away their money either are so lonely or have dedicated themselves to the world.
For me, the best way to help the world to become a better place is to make donations while living and leave the rest of what I have to a specific organization that needs to be helped. This idea might seem to be selfish, or I might be a control freak as I want to see where my money is going to and if it is being used for useful reasons.
To sum up, money is important and it opens every door but there must be something else to save the world such as intangible assets. Then the rest follows.
